Just got a false 20拢 note from my local post office, What am I supposed to do ?

I didn't see at first it's when I popped to a local store that they told me, then I went back to the post office to tell them they had given me a false 20拢 note and they said it wasn't them I should of checked at the post office before leaving...Just got a false 20拢 note from my local post office, What am I supposed to do ?
Keep it as a post office souvenir or just burn it. Just got a false 20拢 note from my local post office, What am I supposed to do ?
The Post Office have broken the law by giving you a fake note. They are supposed to check things like that before handing them out. Take it to your local police station or call them (tel. no.s can easily be found by Googling for it.) They should give you some sort of crime reference number. Then write to the Post Office to tell them and give them the crime reference number. They should pay you back.

But whatever you do, don't spend it. It is illegal and you could be prosecuted.
Sorry, but you should have checked at the PO before leaving. That is, have the money counted out in front of you and ask them to check for fake notes.

The John Adam 拢20 note was issued in 2007 - yet it was sold to a waiting public on the idea that it was difficult or near to impossible to forge. Ha!

At least you can take small comfort in the knowledge that the duff note in your possession was made by one of those creeps who just got arrested - hope so.

Sorry but nothing can do.

go back and tell them you intend going to the police, that might make them sit up and take notice, or try the bank, they should exchange it, but i would talk to post office first.

do not try and spend it, some people have no sense, as i said tell the post office you intend going to the police.
Can`t you take it to your bank and ask them to exchange it, or what you should do. I`m not sure how it works for fake notes.

Not quite the same thing, but my mum was given an old 拢5 note from somewhere and other shops refused to accept it.

I took it into the bank and they exchanged it, for a new one.
I'm guessing you can't prove it, but they shouldn't just ignore the fact you found one. Chances are you won't be able to spend it elsewhere and it isn't really right to either. I should think you are meant to report things like that
phone the police, tell them you got it from the post office and now they wont give you a correct one, they could be giving them out to loads of people so best to do it
Go to the bank. They should change it for you and i'd inform the police as well. The postoffice shouldn't have given you such a negative attitude.
pass it on...or give it me seriously and i'll give you a tenner for it??(pending it's a good en?)

DONT LOOSE OUT...Mail me if you want to deal here?

Doesn't pay to be honest anymore...
Nothing you can do except maybe try and spend it elsewhere if your conscience will allow.
go back to the post office %26amp; bet the cashier 拢20 that u can punch him/her in the face without using your fist...........then draw back hard %26amp; smash them in the face, leave the 拢20 %26amp; walk out satisfied!!!
go back and tell them you will call the police and tell them where you got it

ring the police if they refuse to exchange it
Go to another store and spend it. Let it be SEP (somebody else's problem.)
they sound dodgy. take it to the police as they may have more.
Picket outside the PO, with a sign explaining what they did.
take it to the police and tell them where you got it from you might even get ur money back

dont take to bank try to keep spending it !!!!!!!!!!
take it to the bank and they will give you another one
Hard luck.. try to pass it on else it is your loss I am afraid
I used to work for the Post office, there are sooo many fake notes in circulation its unbelievable. They are usually quite easy to spot. If you've left the Post Office and then noticed you have no proof of where you got it. The best thing to do is try and pass it on. Dont take it to the police as they will just impound it and ull end up with nothin, the post office should have done this when you went back, a bank is also authorised to impound it and u end up with nothing. TRY NOT TO HANDLE IT TOO MUCH! Once it does get impounded it gets checked for finger prints etc.
Spend it in an asian corner shop.
