Can Welbutrin cause a False Positive Pregnancy Test?

I'm sorry, I just asked this question and put Negative. I meant Positive. Thanks.

%26lt;P.S. I'll still choose a best answer for the other question so no one feels that they answered the other question in vain%26gt;Can Welbutrin cause a False Positive Pregnancy Test?
No. There is no food*, no alcohol, no contraceptive, and no illegal or over-the-counter drug that can mess up your HPT results, and semen cannot affect the test. The only drugs that can affect pregnancy test results (in the form of a false positive) are prescription drugs that contain hCG (such as Profasi, Pregnyl, Ovidrel, etc.) They are prescribed for fertility treatments or other ';female problems.'; If you are taking one of these drugs, ask your doctor how soon you can use a pregnancy test (different doses require different amounts of time to leave your system, so what works for one woman might not work for you.) *Food itself does not cause false results, but can affect how much urine you have and how dilute it is. Eating salty chips and drinking caffeine all day will result in more concentrated pee, whereas gorging on watermelon and ginger ale will result in lots of very dilute pee. Very diluted urine during very early pregnancy may result in a false negative. For best results, pee in a cup first and make sure your pee is medium to dark yellow.

No, nothing can cause a false positive pregnancy test. No medication made by man has HCG in it, which is what a pregnancy test tests for. If there is an elevated level of HCG in your system you are either pregnant or something else is going on. If you got a positive pregnancy test you should contact a doctor ASAP to make sure Wellbutrin is safe to take while pregnant. I took it for post-partum depression and it saved my life, but i wasn't pregnant at the time.
That's funny because the first time I answered it, I answered it as if you had put positive, but then I went back and edited it to make the answer right! hehee

No. With the exception of a few fertility drugs, medications have no impact on pregnancy tests.

Generally speaking, a positive is a positive. False positives are very rare.

If you tested positive, then subsequent tests were negative, it's possible that the other tests weren't as sensitive as the first, or that you had an early miscarriage. Doctors estimate that 50% of pregnancies end in miscarriages, but of that 50%, only 15% of women who have miscarriages ever knew they were pregnant.

I hope you get what ever result you're hoping for!
