If an Illegal alien used a false social security who gets unclaimed tax money?

This is a two part question:


1.)A buisness owner must pay employee taxes. If the employer did not know the the SS# was fraudulant, who keeps the unclaimed tax money paid by the employer and the taxes taken from employee checks? I know that unclaimed social security goes into an account.


2.) If interest is accumulating on this unclaimed social security why is social security going bankrupt when there are millions of illegal aliens who are not claiming it?If an Illegal alien used a false social security who gets unclaimed tax money?
The federal government keeps all tax money paid. If no return is filed, assuming there was a refund due, the money just goes into the general fund.





Social Security is going bankrupt because congress has been raiding the social security trust fund for years to pay for pet programs without appearing to increase the budget deficit. Yes, both democratic and republican congresses have done this. Officially it's a ';loan'; from the trust fund, but it never gets paid back, and the money doesn't earn interest (which it would have if it had been in the trust fund).


Social Security isn't going bankrupt because there are too many baby boomers going to retire at the same time, it's going bankrupt because the congressmen we've elected have robbed us blind.





BTW, there *is* a surplus in both taxes and SS every year from illegal immigrants who use fraudulent IDs. Kicking them all out would end that surplus, and both SS and the federal budget would be even worse off than they are now.If an Illegal alien used a false social security who gets unclaimed tax money?
That is something I would like to know. Maybe our government is as corrupt as our neighbors.

Does the employer actually have to pay taxes on a SSN that doesn't match government records? I didn't think so. I think employer keeps it, but I'm not sure.
We don't care! we just do what we got to. You Americans will give us amnesty and we will be free to take over. Your elections will gave us people who love our votes. They will never build a wall. We will live in The United States of Mexico soon.

they either have false papers or they are getting payed under the table. they will get found out. why don't you call the social security office. or you can just call the IRS and they will be more then happy to help you.
I think this money was redirected to the ';grab it and go'; accounts of lemon and lime farmers for ';Jesus';. First off, there is no such thing as unclaimed money in Conservative controlled districts. It offsets one state or federal budget bottom line or another, and was, more than likely, distributed with the ';blessing'; of a corrupt Governor.
If it happens to be a number that is already issued it counts to the general fund. What is happening though is that more than offend


it is a number that belongs to someone else, like a child, then what happens is the DEPT the illegals incure goes on the number that they have boughten. When caught like after a bankruptcies or an attempt to borrow money, then it is to late you have the number that you were given and the black mark stays with the rightful owner.





Also some employers get by by fileing a 10/98 on their workers
I think it should go to the government, to help pay for services rendered to illegal aliens, and help defray the cost to states and communities. 10 bucks of it should go toward the construction of the border fence and to support law enforcement, also.

One of the constant arguments that I hear about illegal immigration is that they are draining the nations economy. It is alleged that they don't pay taxes yet benefit from government spending - education, healthcare, and even some welfare spending. The problem with this is that it is untrue.





This article (hattip to both Joan at LA Mom and Bradford Plumer) takes a look at how illegal immigrants pay millions into social security and medicaire yet never receive a penny of those benefits:











As the debate over Social Security heats up, the estimated seven million or so illegal immigrant workers in the United States are now providing the system with a subsidy of as much as $7 billion a year.





While it has been evident for years that illegal immigrants pay a variety of taxes, the extent of their contributions to Social Security is striking: the money added up to about 10 percent of last year's surplus - the difference between what the system currently receives in payroll taxes and what it doles out in pension benefits. Moreover, the money paid by illegal workers and their employers is factored into all the Social Security Administration's projections.

It is impossible to know exactly how many illegal immigrant workers pay taxes. But according to specialists, most of them do. Since 1986, when the Immigration Reform and Control Act set penalties for employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants, most such workers have been forced to buy fake ID's to get a job.





Most studies are showing that the vast majority (75%) of illegal immigrants in this country are working and paying taxes, and most receive very little benefit from it. Just in Social Security alone illegal immigrants pay approximately 7 billion dollars per year.





As Joan says, ';Imagine if they were legally recognized and didn't have to lie in order to contribute to our economy.';





So you can use other arguments (which don't typically hold much weight either) to hate illegal immigrants...but do not use the economy, because it just is not true.
Yes, the ones with stolen social security cards do pay taxes. It will go unclaimed. Atleast they put back a little percentage of what they use up.
