False tooth glued directly to my gum not attached to a bridge or anything else.?

My dentist performed a root canal but the tooth broke off anyway. He made a false tooth with a tiny metal post in it. He then cemented the tooth directly to my gum. Not to any adjacent teeth. Not a bridge. Is this a normal practice? Will it hurt the gum? Is it permanent because it has fallen out twice. I can't find anyone who has ever had a tooth cemented to soft tissue before.False tooth glued directly to my gum not attached to a bridge or anything else.?
It is not really cemented to the gum. Part of the root canal filling was removed and the post is extended into the canal of the root. If it has fallen out twice it may not be fitting properly or the post may not be long enough. It should be at least half the length of the root. A second opinion may not be a bad idea. Good luck.False tooth glued directly to my gum not attached to a bridge or anything else.?
It is not cemented directly to the gums but into the remainder of the tooth that is left. Being that it has fallen out twice it may be time to consider removing the tooth and placing an implant or a bridge. You don't want to be going back every few months to have it placed in again.
