Is it possible to get a false positive on an at home pregnancy test?

Very unlikely. Usually only if you've been taking fertility treatments. Is it possible to get a false positive on an at home pregnancy test?
A positive home pregnancy test = baby hun =)

The way a home pregnancy test works is by detecting a hormone (hcg) in your system. Our bodies can't produce hcg, the baby produces it from conception and then so does the placenta as it develops. So if the home pregnancy test detects hcg in your urine it will make ';the little line'; appear hun.

I remember when I got my positive home pregnancy test my husband didn't want us to get to excited until I saw a doctor. I think his works were ';How can we trust a piece of plastic';. Our Doctor explained that it is next to impossible to get a false positive (I think the statistic is 99.999% - there is a very rare tumor that produces a hormone very similar to hcg - but seriously what are the chances!!!)

It is possible how ever to get a false negative. Sometimes in very early pregnancy your hcg hormones aren't strong enough yet to be detaected. So if you do happen to get a negative result you should always try again in a few days just in case.

All the best hun =)Is it possible to get a false positive on an at home pregnancy test?
Unlikely..but not impossible. Home pregnancy tests detect HCG hormone that your body produces when it is pregnant. These are the few causes of a false pregnancy test....

One common corrupting agent to the pregnancy test is exposure to soaps or detergents.

Another frequently common reason for a false positive pregnancy test is when women are using HCG injections in order to assist in getting pregnant. Trophoblastic tumors, which grown in a woman鈥檚 reproductive system, may also yield a false positive on a pregnancy test.

Anytime you get a positive test..you should see a Dr. They are very rare and more than likely you are pregnant.
Very Very very extremely rare. And it usually has something to do with a hormone you may be taking. If it says positive, chances are 99.9999999999% you are pregnant.
Not unless you have some rare form of cancer. Always assume a positive means you're pregnant, and not that you have cancer. ;)
Not Bloody Likely! The only way you get a false positive is if you're on Fertility drugs like Clomid. So Congratulations!!
You are more likely to get a false negative then a false positive, so if oyu got a pos then your most likely pregnant!
It's more than likely positive!!!!!

Very rare to see a false positive....VERY RARE!
Very rare but if you think you are maybe you tested too early? You may want to wait a week and retest.
